GMO Cloud America is pleased to announce our release of a β-version template (CentOS 6, Ubuntu 11, Debian 6, Fedora 15) as an official option within our extensive OS template lineup. We know that many of our clients like to stay up-to-date with the latest software releases and so strive to keep you ahead of the pack.

Please note that software in the beta phase will generally have many more bugs in it than completed software, as well as speed/performance issues. The focus of beta testing is reducing impacts to users, often incorporating usability testing.

CentOS is a free OS distribution based upon the Linux kernel. It is derived entirely from the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) distribution. CentOS exists to provide a free enterprise class computing platform and strives to maintain 100% binary compatibility with its upstream source, Red Hat. CentOS stands for Community enterprise Operating System.

Ubuntu is an OS based on the Debian Linux distribution and distributed as free and open source software, using its own desktop environment. It is named after the Southern African philosophy of ubuntu ("humanity towards others").

Debian is an OS composed of software packages released as free and open source software primarily under the GNU General Public License along with other free software licenses. Debian GNU/Linux, which includes the GNU OS tools and Linux kernel, is a popular and influential Linux distribution.

Fedora is an RPM-based, general purpose collection of software, including an operating system based on the Linux kernel, developed by the community-supported Fedora Project and sponsored by Red Hat. Fedora’s flexibility makes it capable of serving as a digital repository for a variety of use cases.
