GMO Cloud Receives AAA Rating in Independent Survey
Tokyo, Japan – February 19, 2013
GMO Internet Group subsidiary, GMO CLOUD K.K., was given a AAA rating by a leading independent research institute in a survey of cloud service providers operating in Japan.
On February 19, Mr. Hiroshi Nakajima, Director of MM Research Institute, Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo) announced the results of the 1st "Comprehensive Evaluation Study of Business Cloud Services". The purpose of this study was to objectively evaluate the ability of cloud services, selecting those services which were suited to allow corporate information system infrastructures and social infrastructures to continue operations at the time of disasters. This was the first comprehensive evaluation conducted by MM Research Institute to properly understand cloud services.
The study evaluated the services offered by 30 major cloud service (IaaS/PaaS) providers, using a scoring system consisting of 43 detailed items weighted by their degree of importance, in 6 categories: "basic features", "service packages", "network", "reliability", "operational support", and "pricing structure". In order to calculate the degree of importance for each item, a survey was conducted on 343 individuals from various companies involved with selecting cloud services.
In the overall evaluation, 6 companies obtained the highest standard ranking of AAA (80 points or above), one of them being GMO CLOUD K.K.
